Our Paper
Karvle paper is made from recycled stone collected from quarries and construction sites. The stone is then crushed and mixed with a small amount of resin that is used as a binding agent. Heat and pressure are applied, and after many delicate rotations in huge rollers, the material is then thin and light enough to be used as paper. Unlike traditional paper, stone paper is tear-resistant and more durable. It is smoother in texture, naturally bright white and is made without wood, water, or toxic chemicals. The production of stone paper uses 75% less energy and reduces our carbon footprint by more than 50%.
Sustainability
The entire lifecycle of our notebooks means so much to us. They are crafted with passion to be stored and revisited. But if you wish to dispose of yours, you can do so knowing that they can be fully recycled with no harmful gases released as the notebooks will simply be reduced to their original form of calcium carbonate. And, if for whatever reason they do end up in a landfill site, the notebooks will be broken down by sunlight in under a year, cracking like an eggshell in the sun.
